150 Years of Vooruit Festival

During the weekend of September 24-25, a special festival will take place on Brienenoord Island. We are celebrating 150 years of Nieuwe Waterweg! Throughout the year there have been all kinds of activities in connection with this anniversary. These will all be brought together this weekend and WaterWalks will, of course, be there too!

From art to children's activities
In various tents, in open nature and on the water, there is plenty to do. Discover the island, for example, during one of the many (guided) walks, including those of WaterWalks (with app and all!) and learn all about urban nature, the unique tidal area and the allotments. Or view art from the Waterworks project.

Especially for children (8+), children's book author Linda Dielemans will provide a lecture on Doggerland, the Atlantis of the North Sea. Listen to the Watersoundtrack by Joost de Jong and nature songs by Laurens Vocaal. Swing along with the jazz band and catch your breath in between with the delicious (vegetarian) snacks and drinks from Buitenplaats. And get bored of the island? Then step aboard for a cruise down the river.

Most activities take place outdoors. The Island of Brienenoord is best reached by bicycle. Entrance is free.
